Our Story

Anne was born and raised in the Inland Empire and moved to the South Bay in 2000.  Always having a deep connection with animals and being raised with a variety of pets from pigs to hamsters, she decided to start a pet sitting service in her neighborhood in Redondo Beach to help with extra income.

After only gaining a few clients, she decided to increase her experience with animals by seeking a position at a veterinary clinic in Manhattan Beach.  She quickly learned how the handling of pets within the veterinary field was drastically different then just playing with and petting them.  Learning from doctors and technicians, Anne absorbed as much knowledge as she could and started to understand animals on different levels of pain, aggression, happiness, fear, illness and so on.

Throughout the next several years, she gained new, more responsible positions at veterinary hospitals within the South Bay, and subsequently continued her education at the Professional Veterinary Assistant School and graduated in 2009, having finished courses certifying her to take the Registered Veterinary Technician license test.  Shortly after graduation, and having a baby girl named Isabella, Anne was employed at the Peninsula Center Pet Hospital in Rolling Hills, Ca, where she worked for 7 years and created her pet services business all over again.

While working for an amazing veterinary hospital in a small community, Anne developed relationships with many clients, offering help when clients felt there wasn't any options for their scared dog or ferocious cat, other then boarding them in a cage.  While boarding is great for some animals, Anne realized that there was a need for different accommodations for the pets that weren't adjustable to kennels, car rides or stress.  Soon she had made a name for herself, helping with in home toe nail trims, overnight stays and medicating.  As time went by and clients continued to try this new approach, Anne the Pet Nanny was created to solidify Anne Jones as a pet professional in the South Bay.

Today, we have over 300 pets that we care for from San Pedro to El Segundo.

We are thrilled with every new "baby" we get to meet, and treat every stay with care and responsibility.

Having employed Anne Jones as both a dog and house sitter for many years,  she represents peace of mind when we are traveling.  She is both incredibly dependable and competent, so I know our dog Buck is receiving the best of care.  This is particularly important as he has aged and developed a myriad of health issues.  She is very knowledgeable and quick to spot and take care of any health issues. Most importantly Buck adores Anne and her family and he is a very happy camper when we are gone.  We highly recommend Anne; she is a treasure.
